Before the other person could reply, he murmured, “It’s been a long time.”

Shen Mubai couldn’t stay calm anymore. From the moment she found out it was the young male lead, her mind had been in a state of chaos.

“Can we talk about this outside, please?” she asked.

An Ziyu chuckled softly, “No.”

Shen Mubai slowly crouched down, feeling at a loss.

“Ziyu, please stop making trouble.”

An Ziyu hugged her and said in a low voice, “Luoluo, I like you so much, I can’t control my feelings. Do you know how many times I’ve wanted to lock you in my room so that no one else can see you?”

He sighed softly, “I’m sorry. I know this is scaring you, but I can’t keep hiding my feelings anymore.”

He smiled in the darkness, like a blood-red flower blooming among white bones.

“It’s not fair to me. I clearly like you so much, but I still have to pretend and suppress it. Even though I’m dying of jealousy, I have to watch all those people get close to you.”

Shen Mubai’s body tensed slightly, and she whispered, “Ziyu, can we talk about this when we go back?”

An Ziyu stared at her for a moment and then smiled, “Okay.”

Shen Mubai finally felt relieved.

When she walked out of the equipment room, her legs felt weak.

She tried her best to ignore the intense gaze behind her and walked back to her classroom with a mind full of confusion.

In the next class, Shen Mubai almost didn’t hear anything the teacher said.

Her mind was filled with An Ziyu’s words and tone, which was completely different from the gentle image she had of him.

Where did it all go wrong?

Shen Mubai couldn’t understand.

Xu Lin seemed to notice her distraction and reported it to the teacher.

By the time Shen Mubai realized what was happening, she had already been allowed to leave school early.

That was fine; at least she didn’t have to face the young male lead tonight, Shen Mubai thought with a sigh of relief.

When she got home, Xiao Xueqing was in the living room preparing vegetables. Seeing her daughter’s pale face, she quickly asked, “Luoluo, why are you home so early today? Did something happen?”

Shen Mubai also realized that her condition might be alarming and forced a smile, “It’s nothing; I just took a leave, mom. I’ll go wash my hands and help you.”

Xiao Xueqing said worriedly, “You look so pale; are you feeling sick?”

Shen Mubai touched her face and said, “I’m okay, just a little uncomfortable.”

Xiao Xueqing immediately walked over and placed her hand on her daughter’s forehead.

“Let me check. You feel a bit warm. Go rest for a while; I’ll get you some medicine.”

Even though she knew what was really going on, Shen Mubai nodded to reassure her mother.

Returning to her bedroom, she collapsed onto her soft bed and groaned, “Where did it all go wrong? The young male lead isn’t supposed to be like this. I must be dreaming.”

Shen Mubai nodded to herself, “Yes, I must be dreaming. A good nap will fix everything.”

Saying that, she closed her eyes, and within a few minutes, she fell into a deep sleep.

After an unknown amount of time, Shen Mubai woke up feeling groggy. The sky outside was completely dark. When she walked into the living room and saw the familiar figure on the sofa, she instantly woke up.

Xiao Xueqing, unaware of what had happened between them, looked at her with concern and asked, “Luoluo, are you feeling better now? Ziyu said you left school early today, and he was really worried about you.”
