Chapter 29: Playing in the Royal Capital (3)

The carriage headed towards the city’s premier jewelry store.

Upon arriving in front of the jewelry store, she disembarked from the carriage and entered a stylish building with Noah as her escort.

The moment Fiene stepped inside, she was overwhelmed by its dazzling elegance.

The interior was adorned with red carpets, and showcases displayed necklaces, bracelets, earrings, rings, brooches, and more, all crafted with colorful stones.

In the center of the store, there was a large glass case showcasing a necklace extravagantly adorned with diamonds and featuring a large ruby embedded in the center. Fiene thought it sparkled like a chandelier.

Simultaneously, Fiene felt a sense of tension due to the high status of the store.

A male clerk promptly approached Noah. All the store clerks seemed to recognize Noah as a wealthy, high-ranking noble at a glance, perhaps due to his well-tailored clothes or the fact that half of his face was covered with a silver mask, giving him the appearance of a refined young man.

Dressed in a neatly tailored robe, with the hood pulled low and unkempt hair, he looked quite different from his usual appearance. It was as if he were a completely different person.

“Welcome, sir. Is this a gift for the lady? How may I assist you?” the clerk asked with a smile.

“Well, for starters, bring me the most expensive piece of jewelry in this store,” Noah replied.

“What?” Fiene exclaimed, her eyes wide open. Despite her surprise, the clerk eagerly approached the central glass case, where the necklace resembling a chandelier had caught their attention.

“Please wait a moment!” Fiene blurted out, her face turning blue as she hastily intervened.

“What’s wrong, Fiene?” Noah asked, looking puzzled.

“What’s wrong? Are you really planning to buy that necklace? It’s probably worth the price of several mansions in the prime area of the royal capital!” Fiene protested.

“Yes, so?” Noah responded matter-of-factly.

“It’s impossible. With a chain that thick and heavy, my neck would break!” Fiene pleaded, emphasizing that it was more like a gem-studded straitjacket.

“I see. Indeed, your bone structure is delicate,” Noah pondered, resting his chin on his hand as he looked at Fiene.

“Yes, exactly. Noah-sama, it’s impossible for me to walk around with something as large as that,” Fiene replied.

“Understood. Then, would you like to choose something yourself?”

Fiene felt relieved as Noah seemed to reconsider.

“Yes, I want to cherish whatever you buy for me. So, I’ll choose just one thing,” Fiene decided, aware of the store’s most expensive items and wanting to make her selection before Noah started extravagant shopping.

Fiene’s eyes caught a silver hair ornament adorned with sapphires, resembling the color of Noah’s eyes. “Noah-sama, I want that beautiful hair ornament,” she said, expressing her desire while wondering about the price.

“I see. I understood. Then, add that to the order,” Noah instructed, addressing Fiene first and then turning to the clerk.

“Add? What do you mean by that?” Fiene’s heart raced instantly.

“Well, don’t worry. I also want to buy a few more things,” Noah reassured her.

“I see, you want to buy more,” Fiene said, feeling relieved.

“Fiene, I have some payments to make. You go back to the carriage first. You look tired,” Noah suggested. Indeed, the excitement of the first-time experience was exhilarating, but the intensity was overwhelming, causing Fiene’s heart to pound continuously.

Feeling overly tense and tired from the experience, Fiene followed Noah’s suggestion and obediently returned to the carriage.

However, the next day, while having tea with Noah in the salon, many boxes arrived at the jewelry store addressed to Fiene.

“Noah-sama! All of these are addressed to me!” Fiene exclaimed in surprise.

“It’s not just for you; I have some as well,” Noah said, taking a small box.

“I bought cufflinks,” he added.

In other words, except for the cufflinks, everything else was for Fiene.

With a trembling voice, Fiene expressed her gratitude and cautiously opened the boxes.

Noah had purchased several pieces of jewelry in colors matching Fiene’s eyes—emeralds, jades, peridots, and even diamonds, rubies, and sapphires.

“Noah-sama, I said I wanted to cherish what you bought, so I chose only one item,” Fiene protested, as she had only bought a single hair ornament.

Upon hearing this, Noah tilted his head in confusion.

“Why, Fiene? You only have one neck, but you can wear a three-strand necklace, and you have two arms. There are ten fingers, right? Besides, there are ladies who layer multiple rings on a single finger,” he said casually, taking a sip of his tea.

“Are you suggesting I wear rings on every finger? Noah-sama, that’s not the issue here!” While Fiene probably should be thankful, she couldn’t help but feel apologetic, burying her head in her hands.

“Ah, no, it’s not a problem at all. It’s my pocket money.” Noah Stein was truly an extraordinary man. He not only didn’t listen to others but also…

(This man will definitely be deceived sooner or later.)

Fiene shivered.

And Fiene, wanting to make sure Noah wouldn’t be deceived by anyone, silently wished for that in her heart.

“That’s right, Fiene. Lend me your hand,” Noah said with a faint smile.

“Huh? Okay,” Fiene, feeling curious, extended her hand to Noah. He then put a ring on her index finger.

Fiene blushed nervously. It was her first time having a ring put on by a man. It felt as if she had become a special presence for him.

Coming to the royal capital, this might be the most thrilling moment for Fiene.

While Fiene was feeling nervous, Noah finished putting rings on all of Fiene’s fingers.

“Um, Noah-sama? What is the meaning of all this…” The rings, with gemstones set in gold or platinum, were subtly heavy. Was she supposed to spend the rest of her days like this?

“Fiene, lightly grip my hand,” Noah suggested.

Fiene lightly gripped Noah’s hand as he instructed. However, the rings on their fingers ended up getting in the way, making the grip rather gentle.

“That’s good. Fiene. If you ever feel like you’re about to be attacked by a thug, you can use that to punch them,” Noah suggested.

As expected, this person is peculiar.

After seeing Fiene frozen in place for a while, Noah seemed to have some thoughts. He then leisurely removed the rings from her thumb and pinkie.

“Shall we start with three for now?” Noah asked with a serious expression.

“Noah-sama, they are quite heavy,” Fiene replied.

“Huh? Still heavy?” Noah, taking Fiene’s words literally, furrowed his brows in confusion.

Even with all the kindness he had shown her, Fiene felt she had nothing to give in return.
