Chapter 253: Extraordinary Cuihua (1)

“Quick, move!”

Several prison guards in red official uniforms pushed a plain-dressed woman forward impatiently.

The woman staggered, almost falling forward.

One of the guards pulled her back and spat, “You used to be quite capable, huh? Stealing and not confessing, but now you’re suddenly silent.”

The other two guards sneered, “Stop wasting time with this shrew; hurry up and lock her up. A couple of months inside, and she’ll come out obedient.”

The guard pulling the woman felt something was off. He looked at the silent woman with suspicion.

Seeing him pause, another guard behind him asked, “What’s wrong?”

The guard shook his head, then continued pushing the woman forward. “Move!”

As they passed by a cell, they involuntarily held their breath, walking cautiously as if afraid of some ferocious beast inside.

Though to outsiders, it might seem like there was a dangerous creature within, the guards knew well that the inmates inside were even more terrifying than any wild animal.

Only when they reached a cell on the right side below did they breathe a sigh of relief, sweat dotting their foreheads.

One of the guards reached for a set of keys at his waist, skillfully selecting a key to open the door.

With a heavy creak, the inmates inside, who had been dozing, opened their eyes, all looking towards the door.

The woman was pushed into the cell in full view of everyone.

Suddenly, another woman rushed out, attempting to grab one of the guards’ legs, shouting, “Sir! Sir! I’m innocent!”

Her desperate cries seemed to pierce through eardrums, sending shivers down spines.

The guard, seeming accustomed to such scenes, ruthlessly kicked her away before she could touch him, his expression cold.

As the solid door was shut, the three guards scanned the cell with a domineering gaze before withdrawing.

The guard who had pulled the woman gave her a distrustful look before impatiently saying, “Su Cuihua, you better behave yourself and not try any tricks. This is a prison. No matter how hard you try, you won’t escape.”

Thinking back to her earlier defiance and now seeing her seemingly changed demeanor, the guard clicked his tongue in disdain, then turned to follow the other two guards out.

The woman stood in place as if lost for a long time.

The other female inmates in the cell watched coldly, some even laughing meaningfully. To them, the new arrival was just another target for bullying, especially since she seemed so weak and powerless.

Shen Mubai squatted in a corner, looking lost. “System, how much do you hate me?”

System: “???”

Shen Mubai burst into tears like a grieving 200-pound person. “I don’t want to be called Su Cuihua!”

The system responded, “Well, you can change your name.”

Shen Mubai thought for a moment. Yes, she could change her name.

Before she could even smile with relief, a coarse voice sounded behind her: “Hey! Your name is Su Cuihua, right?”

Shen Mubai: “…”
