As Lu Junyu had said, the people teasing in the bridal chamber dared not overstep again.

Li Hehua also breathed a sigh of relief, handing out the red envelopes cheerfully.

She noticed a hint of disapproval in the eyes of one of the girls, as if she were accusing her of being wasteful.

She found it amusing and slipped a red envelope into the girl’s hand, sweetly asking, “Who is this beautiful young lady?”

Everyone burst into laughter, and someone said, “Miss Lu, haven’t you met your sister-in-law yet? Are you worried that your sister-in-law might lose out?”

Lu Furong blushed, but inwardly she felt delighted. Li Hehua was quite eloquent. People now praise Li Hehua’s beauty, but when she grows up, she will surely be more beautiful than her!

Holding the red envelope, Lu Furong thanked her and called her “elder sister-in-law” shyly before turning away in embarrassment.

The crowd burst into laughter again.

Li Hehua smiled and said, “Here are some fruits and melons from our own farm. Aunts, sisters-in-law, and sisters, please taste them.”

So, it was her little sister-in-law. She didn’t seem very friendly toward her. Actually, the red envelope contained only a copper coin, just for show.

She could afford it anyway; the Lu family was richer than hers. Why was this girl so frugal? Was she treating her money as her own? Quite interesting, hehe.

After Lu Junyu finished toasting and returned, the people teasing in the bridal chamber also sensibly left.

The matchmaker chuckled and said, “Tonight, under the full moon, I wish you both the early birth of noble children.”

With that, she closed the door.

Sitting beside her, Lu Junyu finally reached out to touch her face gently and asked softly, “Have you eaten anything?”

Li Hehua smiled and replied, “I’ve had several pieces of pastry. I’m full.”

Then she noticed the deep gaze in Lu Junyu’s eyes and quickly added, “I want to take a bath first. Is that okay?”

She had been sitting in the sedan chair all day, and the thick wedding dress made her feel sweaty and uncomfortable.

Lu Junyu said, “Sure, there’s water in the ear room. I’ll take you there.”

He took her hand. His wife was a clean person, not like the villagers who went a year without bathing.

Hmm, they were quite compatible.

(T/N: small rooms on both sides of the main house.The ear rooms are generally located on both sides of the main house, just like the two ears are on both sides of the human face, hence the name. )

Li Hehua wasn’t shy at all; she held his hand back and said, “Alright, thank you, husband.”

Lu Junyu felt his hand burning and his heart racing.

His wife was really beautiful, but he felt like something was off.

Just as he was thinking, he saw that his wife had already filled the wooden tub with water and was blinking at him. “Husband, are you coming too?”
