Chapter 53-Part 1

That night, Tang Xin had a rare bout of insomnia. She tossed and turned, unable to sleep. When she turned towards Yan Hao, she felt irritated. When she turned away, she felt an urge to hit someone out of frustration.

Her eyelids felt heavy, and she was exhausted, but she just couldn’t fall asleep.

The next day, with dark circles under her eyes, Tang Xin glared at Yan Hao fiercely.

“It’s all your fault!”

Yan Hao, understanding the situation, thought, “She must have been too excited to sleep after realizing our mutual feelings.” He disapproved, saying, “Don’t get so excited. Be a bit more reserved and composed.”

“Aren’t you hungry? Breakfast is ready,” Yan Hao said, placing a large steaming bowl of fish and shrimp congee on the table and setting out the utensils.

Tang Xin’s nose twitched. It smelled wonderful.

She pretended to glance casually at the pot, seeing slices of fish, large shrimp, sticky rice, and milky white congee soup. It was clearly cooked with fish broth!

Tang Xin looked away, trying to control herself. She stubbornly said, “I’m not hungry.”

She loved good food, but if Yan Hao thought he could win her over with a meal, he was too naive. She was a person of principles!

Unfortunately, her stomach didn’t understand this logic.

No sooner had she finished speaking than her stomach growled loudly. After a night of restless tossing and turning, her stomach was demanding food to replenish energy.

Tang Xin wished she could give her stomach a good slap. How could she eat at such a suspicious meal?! Who knew, after eating, she might be sold off.

Yan Hao noticed her shyness and, with a smile in his eyes, said, “Sit down and have some congee. I also made purple sweet potato cheese balls and mung bean cakes. Try them.”

Tang Xin, feeling resigned, sat down. Yan Hao’s approach seemed to be that if one meal couldn’t win her over, then two would.

Tang Xin thought angrily, “He’s definitely doing this on purpose. Hmph, Yan Hao underestimates me.”

She could eat the meal and still refuse his confession with clenched teeth.

So, she sat down confidently and started eating the congee without hesitation.

With the first bite, she couldn’t help but hold her head. The flavor of the rice and fish broth blended perfectly, the fish slices were tender, and the large shrimp were appetizing just to look at.

Tang Xin picked up a purple sweet potato cheese ball and took a bite. The outside was crispy, and the inside was filled with cheese and purple sweet potato, soft and sweet, incredibly delicious.

Did he think that getting up early to make breakfast would make her give in? No way!

She grabbed a mung bean cake and stuffed it into her mouth, nearly crying from happiness. Damn it, why did everything he made taste so good! It was breaking her willpower, forcing her to waver and reconsider her decision.

Yan Hao watched her eat happily, satisfied and amused. He reached out to wipe the crumbs of sweet potato from her mouth and said, “No rush; eat slowly. It’s all yours; no one’s going to take it from you.”

Tang Xin stared blankly at Yan Hao.

A day ago, if Yan Hao had wiped her mouth, she wouldn’t have reacted at all, maybe even rubbed her face against his hand to get rid of the dirt. But now, her feelings were a complicated mix. How could he just reach out like that? Why did it feel so natural?

Tang Xin suddenly remembered how she used to help Yan Hao wipe his mouth when they were out shopping. So this is what it felt like to be on the receiving end of that?

What would happen if she agreed with his feelings? For the first time, Tang Xin seriously considered the possibility.

He was handsome, and the more she looked, the more pleasing he was. He was the only SS-level person in the interstellar world. He could cook delicious meals, exactly to her taste. He wouldn’t betray her. He would do whatever she asked. He even handed over his salary card to her…

Thinking about it, Tang Xin suddenly felt foolish for not agreeing sooner. How could she not grab this big pie falling in front of her?

“Aren’t you going to eat something?” Tang Xin asked while eating. She had eaten more than half of it and noticed Yan Hao hadn’t touched his chopsticks.

“No, it’s all made for you.”

Tang Xin felt a bit guilty, thinking she had eaten too much, so Yan Hao was leaving the rest for her.

But the next moment, she heard Yan Hao say, “I’ll just have medicinal food later.”

Tang Xin stared at Yan Hao, scrutinizing him like she was trying to find a flaw. But Yan Hao remained calm and unaffected.

Tang Xin had no choice but to withdraw her intense gaze. She angrily grabbed a purple sweet potato cheese ball and bit into it, as if chewing on someone’s flesh. Yan Hao obviously knew that medicinal food wasn’t something you could just eat; it needed to be made by her. This meant he was hinting for her to make medicinal food for him.

Such behavior couldn’t be tolerated! Tang Xin wanted to refuse him firmly, but the words got stuck in her throat. It wasn’t surprising that Yan Hao thought this way. She had always made and served him medicinal food, three meals a day without fail.

If they were in a normal relationship, would two people cook for each other like this? Why had they always been so ambiguous from the start? And why was she only now realizing the odd atmosphere between them?

Tang Xin was completely confused. The only thought in her mind was that she probably needed some medicine to calm down.
