Chapter 57-Part 1

Walking along the road, Yan Hao asked softly, “What does the master plan to do?”

Tang Xin slowed her pace, walking beside Yan Hao, leaned close to his ear, and lowered her voice, “I’ve thought about it. Simply killing Tang Ning is too easy for him. Isn’t he pampered by everyone just because of his talent? I want to see what he’s capable of without his A-grade genes. Let him taste the fall from grace.”

Yan Hao felt uncomfortable with the breath blowing on his ear, so he moved slightly to the side.

“Where do you think you’re going!” Tang Xin, displeased, pulled him back forcefully.

Speaking into his ear ensured no one else would overhear.

Yan Hao’s face reddened slightly, “Speak properly.”

No need to be so handsy.

Tang Xin was baffled.

How was she not speaking properly? Why was he suddenly shy?

She took out two packets of medicinal powder from her ring and handed them to Yan Hao, instructing, “Put the white packet in the steward’s food and give the black packet to Tang Ning.”

Even after two years, she hadn’t forgotten how the steward had trampled on her to curry favor with Tang Ning. Since he chose the wrong side, he had to bear the consequences.

After pocketing the powders, Yan Hao asked, “What’s the difference between the two packets?”

Tang Xin continued whispering in his ear, “The white one lowers strength by one or two levels; the black one lowers genetic level.”

She couldn’t help but feel a twinge of pain as she spoke, “Enhancing genes requires Starry Grass, and so does making the gene-reducing powder. If it weren’t for Tang Ning, I wouldn’t have wasted Starry Grass on this. It’s such a waste.”

**

“Eight Sister?” A surprised shout came from afar.

Tang Xin looked in the direction of the voice, startled, “Tang Jing? What are you doing here?”

She had returned specifically for revenge.

Tang Jing should have left home shortly after she did. Seeing her here at the Tang family estate was quite odd.

Now that she had wealth and power, she didn’t need to be cautious like when she first transmigrated, so she called out directly.

Tang Jing’s expression was peculiar as she looked at the two of them.

She quickly walked over to Tang Xin, “Can we talk somewhere private?”

“Sure, let’s go to my room.”

Tang Xin was about to move when Tang Jing stopped her, looking meaningfully at Yan Hao, “Just the two of us.”

Yan Hao was tactful and took the initiative to say, “I’m going to see an old friend and will be back later.”

Two years had passed, and the Ninth Miss was still a level 3 warrior. If it were just a chat, fine, but if she had any ill intentions, she would meet a grim end.

The master had plenty of defensive powders on her; any one of them could easily handle the Ninth Miss.

Therefore, Yan Hao left with confidence. He said he was going to meet old friends, but in truth, he was looking for the butler to feed him the powder.

Tang Xin then led Tang Jing to her room.

As soon as the door closed, Tang Jing growled quietly, “Are you really involved with the guard? Are you out of your mind?”

Tang Xin calmly checked the teapot, found it had hot tea, poured two cups of tea, and handed one to Tang Jing, “What are you afraid of? I’ve already fallen out with Tang Ning. Should I still care about his opinion?”

Even if Tang Ning was willing to make peace, she wouldn’t let it go! She’d steal anyone he valued!

Tang Jing held her forehead, “Who said anything about Tang Ning? A guard! You have to pay to support him! What’s the future in that? Are you planning to support him for life?”

Tang Xin didn’t understand, “At the beginning, didn’t you think it was worth offending Tang Ning just for his face?”

“That was a joke! I was joking!” Tang Jing couldn’t help but get exasperated, “If you’re just dating him, fine. But if you marry him, you’ll regret it.”

Well, even though Tang Jing called her stupid, she was actually looking out for her, so Tang Xin let it slide.

Tang Xin said seriously, “I don’t lack money. I need someone who cares about me, prioritizes me, and puts me first in everything.”

To her, credits were just numbers.

Moreover, before returning home, she had concealed Yan Hao’s level to appear as a level 5 warrior, but he was actually a level 8 warrior. He could find work anywhere. But she had plenty of money, so why make Yan Hao go out and earn it, causing them to be apart?

“Well, won’t that be eating soft rice…” Tang Jing stammered, intimidated by Tang Xin’s demeanor, “Did you strike it rich after Tang Ning screwed you over?”

(T/N: eating soft rice refers to a man who is living off his girlfriend/woman= a kept man.)

“I made a little money.”

Tang Xin downplayed the topic.

Soft rice or not, she didn’t care about anyone’s opinions.

She lived for herself and her happiness.

Tang Xin asked back, “You know Tang Ning set me up?”

“I went to look for you. When the Tang family on your assigned planet said they’d never seen you, I knew something was wrong.”

Tang Jing was curious, “Where did he dump you?”

Tang Xin recounted being thrown on the Huangsha Star, making Tang Jing click her tongue, “Who knew Tang Ning had a brain.”

After hesitating, Tang Jing asked, “Did you come back just to trouble him?”

“An eye for an eye,” Tang Xin made no effort to hide her hatred for Tang Ning.

Tang Jing stared blankly at Tang Xin, then sighed, “Seems like you’ve done well out there.”

“Why do you say that?”

“Because someone struggling like me would come home to seek family help,” Tang Jing said helplessly.

“Remember, I once promised to help you?” Tang Xin reminded her, “That still stands.”
