I wil not choose you - Chapter 19-Extra Chapter
Chapter 19: The Villainous Ladies Quartet… Aftermath… (Part 2)
Sitting on a garden chair and listening to my friends’ conversations, I began reflecting on the game scenario.
(The bomb defusal was supposed to be an event in Isaac’s route. I used that knowledge to deal with the recent incident, but…)
In Isaac’s route, there was a time-limited event called “Resolving the Bomb Incident.”
A spy from a neighboring country plants a bomb in the royal capital, and Isaac discovers a way to neutralize it.
The core of the bomb is a mineral that dissolves with a specific chemical, and Isaac’s quick thinking saves the capital.
This was an episode showcasing Isaac’s exceptional talent in chemistry since his school days.
In the game, the female lead assists Isaac, leading to the resolution of the incident. In this reality, I took the initiative in place of the female lead and sought Isaac’s help.
(In the game, Isaac Orton is awarded the title of Count for saving the country. He then marries Isla after graduation, becoming a loving Count couple… But somehow, I received that title instead!?)
It suddenly felt like a massive mistake.
In the game, Isaac’s fiancée, Erin, despised his lower noble status.
(Villainess Erin Cresdy is the third daughter of a count’s family. In Isaac’s route, she resents being married off to a lower-ranked Viscount’s family. Thus, she constantly belittles Isaac. When Isaac is awarded the title of count, Erin tries to cozy up to him but gets rejected, leading to a broken engagement. This is the game scenario.)
In this reality, Erin never voiced dissatisfaction with her fiancé, so I didn’t give it much thought.
(If Isaac had received the title of Count, Erin would have been happier. When Isaac was mentioned earlier, Erin’s awkward expression… Could it be that they’re not on good terms?)
What should I do? Did I take away Isaac’s credit?
“Mireille, why do you look so down?” Erin asked, snapping me back to reality.
“It’s nothing. …By the way, are you happy, Erin?”
“Why the sudden question?”
“I was just curious.”
“?”
My odd behavior puzzled my friends. At that moment—
“Lady Erin, Lord Isaac is here,” a maid informed Erin quietly.
With a slightly embarrassed expression, Erin replied curtly.
“Shall I show him in, my lady?”
“Yes, please.”
Guided by the maid, Isaac Orton appeared.
He was slightly small and slender for a man, with a beautiful, gentle face reflecting his kind nature.
Isaac was the ‘younger brother’ type—honest, kind, and dedicated to the female lead.
“Hello, Erin. Long time no see, everyone. I just saw Lady Mireille recently.”
“Thank you for your help the other day, Lord Orton.”
“Likewise. I’m honored to have been of service to the country.”
Isaac smiled warmly at us as we greeted him back. Erin alone looked embarrassed, her face red, and her expression sullen.
(Are they really on bad terms?)
Sophie asked Isaac and Erin.
“Oh, Lord Orton was expected today? Erin, you should have told us earlier.”
“Isaac just decided to come today, so I had no choice but to say yes,” Erin responded sharply, while Isaac smiled beside her.
“Erin mentioned she was meeting you all today. I wanted to greet you personally.”
“A greeting?”
“Yes.”
Isaac gently pulled Erin closer.
“We’ve decided to get married at the end of this year. I wanted to tell you, her close friends, in person.”
Erin blushed like an apple and looked bashful.
The sudden wedding announcement made us all exclaim, “What!?”
“Oh, Isaac, don’t tell everyone so suddenly! It’s embarrassing.”
“But it’s good news. We need to share it properly. We won’t have many opportunities to meet directly.”
“That’s true, but…”
Erin complained to Isaac, embarrassed but looking very happy.
The two of them, snuggling together, started chatting.
(Come to think of it, Erin is a tsundere… She wasn’t upset, just embarrassed.)
Realizing this, I felt relieved.
Blushing, Erin reported to us with pride, “So, I’ll become Lady Orton at the end of the year. Please continue to support us!”
Her voice was filled with pride, showing no concern for social rank differences. Though embarrassed, she looked happy snuggling with Isaac.
“Congratulations, Erin!”
“We’re so happy for you!”
“You’ll be the first married one among us!”
Reflecting on it, just as I stopped being “Villainess Mireille,” Erin’s personality had also changed significantly during our school years.
Erin was strong-willed but kind-hearted, and she had built a deep trust with Isaac.
We celebrated Erin and Isaac’s happy ending and their new beginning together.
