Interstellar Pharmacist - Chapter 62-Part 1
Chapter 62-Part 1
The news of Tang Ning being detected as B-level quickly spread throughout the Tang family.
The timid and superstitious believed that it was the steward’s restless spirit coming back for revenge. Otherwise, why would the tenth young master, who was perfectly fine as A-level, suddenly become B-level after fainting in the garden?
Some conspiracy theorists boldly proposed a different opinion, “Maybe he was originally B-level. It’s just that the family head covered it up, pretending he was A-level in front of others. Otherwise, why would everyone consider him the next head of the family and try to curry favor with him?”
Opinions varied widely.
The three members of the elders’ council were also unable to reach a consensus.
They argued about how to handle the issue of falsifying gene levels.
Tang Jingnan firmly insisted that Tang Ning’s gene level dropped after he fainted in the garden. To prevent chaos and panic within the Tang family, he kept silent and investigated secretly.
“Alright, let me say a few words,” the eldest elder coughed lightly.
“Since Ning’s gene level has already become B-level, the supplies he previously selected should be returned to the warehouse for redistribution. Moreover, this matter must be thoroughly investigated. Whether it’s a drop in genes or in abilities, it’s a serious matter for the Tang family. If this virus spreads unchecked, who knows who else might be affected? The garden should be sealed off, and no one is allowed to enter.”
Tang Jingnan’s expression eased slightly; the eldest elder was implying that the tenth young master had been sabotaged, resulting in his downgrade.
The second elder agreed, “That is indeed necessary.”
“As for Ning,” the eldest elder hesitated for a moment before continuing, “let’s keep him in the Tang family for observation to see if his condition worsens or if there’s any way to cure him.”
“It’s a vengeful ghost seeking retribution, not an illness. How can it be cured? Why did Ning go to the garden in the first place? Isn’t it inauspicious?” the third elder lamented.
Tang Jingnan’s face was as grim as water.
“I suspect there is some villain causing trouble, framing the tenth young master. I want to send someone to investigate. I hope the elders won’t mind.”
The council of elders agreed.

On the other side, Tang Ning was restless in his room.
Others didn’t know why he went to the garden, but he was very clear.
Upon hearing the news of the steward’s suicide, he was scornful and went to the pond to mock the steward’s cowardly behavior. He stood by the pond, saying all sorts of things.
As a result, before he could leave the garden, the steward’s strange illness was passed on to him!
Tang Ning secretly thought that his gene downgrade was due to the steward’s lingering spirit seeking revenge. However, he didn’t dare tell his father the truth.
Should he go to the garden and burn some joss paper to appease the steward’s spirit?
As soon as he thought of it, he acted on it.
Tang Ning left his room and tried to find someone to ask where he could get joss paper. But as soon as people saw him, they quickly avoided him from afar.
“Strange,” Tang Ning muttered as he walked. Usually, many people would flock around him. But today, everyone had changed their attitude, lowering their heads and quickly walking away, avoiding eye contact.
“Isn’t that the tenth young master? Such a big incident happened, and he still has the mood to stroll around. He’s really carefree.”
“He’s lucky to have a father who is the family head, willing to lie to pave the way for his son.”
“Shh, keep your voice down. Do you want to die?”
“What’s there to fear? He deceived everyone, and we can’t even talk about it?”
The whispers reached Tang Ning’s ears clearly, making him furious on the spot.
Tang Ning looked around, wanting to pull out the people making snide remarks and teach them a lesson. But with voices coming from all directions, could he beat everyone up?
Tang Ning was annoyed but held back his anger and casually grabbed someone, asking, “Where can I find joss paper?”
The person immediately kneeled down, crying and sniffling, “Tenth young master, I know nothing! Please spare me!”
“…” That response didn’t make any sense.
Tang Ning walked away, planning to ask someone else.
He couldn’t help but think that if the steward were still around, it would be so much easier. A word to the steward, and anything he needed would be delivered to him.
But then again, if it weren’t for the steward’s vengeful spirit, he wouldn’t have to search for joss paper in the first place. So he hated the steward even more.
Finally, he found someone who helped him get the joss paper.
Tang Ning took a basin and the joss paper to the garden alone to burn it.
As he burned the paper, he muttered, “For the sake of our acquaintance, here’s some money for you. Don’t haunt me anymore; go reincarnate. Yes, I blamed you for the downgrade and said some unpleasant things. But you’re dead now; don’t hold it against me, okay? Just because you downgraded doesn’t mean I have to downgrade too, right?”
“You got the money, so do your job. Let me return to A-level!” Tang Ning earnestly hoped.
“What are you mumbling about?” Suddenly, a deep voice came from behind, startling Tang Ning.
Turning around, Tang Ning froze—it was his father.
Did his father hear what he said? Tang Ning felt uneasy.
He explained, “The steward’s spirit is restless, so I came to pay my respects and burn some joss paper. I hope he leaves soon.”
Tang Jingnan was choked with anger, unable to breathe. He dragged Tang Ning out of the garden and only let go after they reached a corner.
