Li Yunze, in disbelief, turned and grabbed her arm forcefully.
Shen Mubai tried to shake him off but couldn’t.
Frustrated, she said, “Can you let go of me?”
Li Yunze looked at the woman in front of him.
He had always known Tang Xiaoxing was beautiful, but before, he just found her stupidity unbearable.
Now, though, with her face slightly flushed and her eyes misty, she was making him lose focus.
Hearing her words, an unexpected surge of anger rose within him. He sneered, “Tang Xiaoxing, weren’t you once madly in love with me? Now you’re pretending you don’t know me? Or is this some kind of playing-hard-to-get act?”
Shen Mubai thought this guy was completely insane and couldn’t help but laugh coldly, saying, “Sorry, I don’t associate with trash.”
Li Yunze shoved her against the wall, “Didn’t you always want me to kiss you? I’ll grant your wish right now.”

Just as she prepared to kick him, a familiar voice called out, “Xiaoxing.”
Li Yunze also turned to look, momentarily stunned by the handsome face he saw.
Yu Jingchen walked over, his height and presence adding a sense of pressure.
His beautiful eyes locked on Li Yunze, and without hesitation, he pried Li’s hand off Shen Mubai and pulled her behind him.
He smiled gently, his voice soft but firm, “Excuse me, sir.”
His smile faded slightly as he added, “Could you please stay away from her?”
The young man in front of Li Yunze radiated an air of harmlessness, and even his exquisite features carried no hint of threat.
Yet, something about him gave Li Yunze a sense of unease.
Glaring at Yu Jingchen with suspicion, Li Yunze asked, “Who are you?”
Yu Jingchen’s expression remained gentle and unthreatening, “I’m… Sister Xiaoxing’s friend.”
Li Yunze noticed the slight pause in his speech and sneered, “I’m her boyfriend.”
For a brief moment, dark emotions flickered in Yu Jingchen’s eyes, but he quickly suppressed them.
“If I’m not mistaken, you two have already broken up, haven’t you?”
Li Yunze’s temple twitched in anger, but he couldn’t deny the truth.
He smirked, “So what? Didn’t she tell you? She used to be head over heels for me.”
Still standing behind Yu Jingchen, Shen Mubai—though feeling more and more lightheaded—could hear their conversation clearly. Hearing Li Yunze’s arrogant claim, she muttered, “You’re full of crap!”
Li Yunze’s expression froze.
Yu Jingchen chuckled, his tone polite as ever, “Apologies, but someone’s waiting for us. We’ll be leaving now.”
With that, he gently pulled Shen Mubai along and turned to leave.
His voice softened, “Sister Xiaoxing, are you feeling okay?”
Shen Mubai let out a small hiccup and mumbled, “I’m… fine.”
Watching them walk away, Li Yunze laughed bitterly and shouted after them, “You’re just a stand-in at best!”
