Tired! The Yandere Disciple Wants To Blacken, I Have To Coax Him Every Day - Chapter 19
Chapter 19
(T/N: before this chapter, the ancient secret realm was translated as netherworld ancient realm but i think it is better to stick to its original name which huangquan ancient realm…hehe)
Luo Chu washed up and stepped outside.
On the stone table in the courtyard there were already osmanthus cakes, millet porridge, and lightly stir fried vegetables laid out.
They were neither too hot nor too cold, the temperature just right.
“Today the little kitchen is short on ingredients. Please make do,” Liu Chengzhi said as he carried the freshly made tofu soup to the table.
He wiped his hands on his apron a few times, skimmed the oil and scallions from the surface, and served a bowl to Luo Chu.
Luo Chu sat down, pinched a piece of osmanthus cake and took a small bite.
The rich scent of osmanthus filled her mouth.
The white cake was sweet without being cloying, glutinous without being sticky, with tiny petals of osmanthus scattered through it.
But she was still caught in last night’s dream and felt a little distracted.
Seeing Luo Chu say nothing, Liu Chengzhi grew anxious and asked nervously, “Not to your taste? Master, what would you like to eat? I will make it now.”
“No need. This is fine. I like it,” the master said.
The master said she liked it.
A smile lifted Liu Chengzhi’s face.
He stared at Luo Chu without blinking, like a child who had returned home with a perfect score and was waiting to be praised.
Luo Chu took a few more sips of millet porridge before remembering her disciple was still standing by her side and asked, “Have you had your breakfast yet?”
“I will wait until the master has finished eating,” he replied.
“No need. Sit and eat together.”
“Thank you, Master.”
As if afraid Luo Chu might change her mind, Liu Chengzhi dashed into the kitchen, fetched a pair of bowls and chopsticks, and sat down beside her.
Music rises where master and disciple share joy.
Happiness overflows from town to well.
Peace filled the air.
“By the way, where are Zi Gui and Niuniu?” Luo Chu asked.
Zi Gui had named the little beast Niuniu.
Luo Chu had thought the name was rather rustic, but Zi Gui liked it so she let it be.
After all, it was not her pet to begin with.
“Zi Gui has passed the Qi Refinement stage. From now on he must go daily to the Thousand Character Tower on Yuling Peak to study cultivation knowledge with the other disciples.”
That was right.
When he took Liu Chengzhi as a disciple years ago, he had already been older and clingy.
He had never been to the Thousand Character Tower.
“And you…”
“Master need not worry. I will not fall behind in any of my studies,” Liu Chengzhi answered.
“Good,” Luo Chu said.
Having such a sensible and considerate disciple made her feel that she, as master, had been negligent.
“Tomorrow I will go into seclusion at the Huangquan Ancient Realm. I will cultivate for a time. Be careful of everything while I am gone.”
“Master, please rest assured.”
“Mm. Later go down the mountain and get some of the finest silk quilts and utensils.”
“Why?”
Liu Chengzhi paused with his chopsticks and frowned slightly, sensing that something was amiss.
“Since the master has newly accepted two disciples, she cannot let them continue to live at the foot of the mountain.”
Luo Chu finished her porridge and continued, “I will clean out the two empty disciple rooms beside the side chamber that have been gathering dust and have them move in.”
Luo Chu still felt uneasy about the dream from last night.
After some thought she decided it would be better to bring Xiao Chen and Yuan Moli to live nearby.
That would add another layer of protection for her own safety.
Liu Chengzhi’s lashes trembled slightly and his tightly pressed lips slowly relaxed.
He propped his cheek with one hand and the corner of his mouth curved into an attractive smile.
“Then I will help the master tidy up.”
“Mm.”
The master and disciple stood outside the unused rooms.
“Master, there is a lot of dust in this room. I will go in and clean it first.”
“All right.”
Luo Chu had meant to say she would do it herself.
Since finishing that dream last night she had become acutely aware that she needed to hasten the process of clinging to the villain’s thigh, but then she thought about the many years she had already enjoyed and decided she could wait a little longer.
Liu Chengzhi had been here for some time as well.
Luo Chu walked in with her hands behind her back and was pleased to see the room spotless.
She would not even need to lift a finger.
“There are mice. There are mice there.”
Luo Chu was usually fearless and untamed, but she was the one who feared mice most of all.
Her head rang and she threw herself into Liu Chengzhi’s arms.
Her power burst toward the room in a chaotic barrage, but not a single hair on a mouse was touched.
Liu Chengzhi swept her into a princess carry, eyes lowered, looking at the person in his arms with a doting smile.
With a casual flourish, the place where the mouse had been was blown into a great hole.
The poor little creature that had come out to find food was left utterly destroyed.
“Master, look, it is dead.”
Luo Chu slowly opened her tightly shut eyes and looked at the room torn to pieces.
Embarrassed, she cleared her throat and jumped down from Liu Chengzhi’s arms.
Damn it, she had lost face.
“Master?”
Luo Chu turned away without answering him and covered her ears to deceive herself.
“Master, please pay attention to me. I did not see anything just now.”
“Master, please do not ignore me. I will make you a snack you have never eaten before.”
Luo Chu continued to ignore him.
The youth left a little dejected.
One step, two steps, three steps.
From behind came a mock modest question.
“Is it really something I have never eaten before?”
The youth smiled faintly, looking truly pitiable as he turned back.
“Yes. I will go to the kitchen and bring it to the master right now.”
After he left, Luo Chu looked at the ginger cat lounging in the tree sunning itself and scolded, “You saw the mouse and did not catch it. You made me lose face in front of my disciple.”
“I am far too noble to do the coarse work of catching mice. Why use a butcher’s knife to kill a chicken?”
the ginger cat boasted with flamboyant airs while actually feeling weak inside.
What a joke.
The mouse was conjured by the great villain with illusion spell.
Do you think I dare catch it? I do not know where the other 40 percent of your cultivation went.
You did not even see it.
Because the room had been blown to pieces, Luo Chu’s plan to have the two new disciples move into the rooms beside the Yinbing Pavilion fell through.
Early the next morning Yun Xinyi led the top ten disciples from the Immortal Alliance conference to the entrance of the Huangquan Ancient Realm.
A vast stone array rose from the ground, covered with talismans.
Mist curled and no sky could be seen. Beyond, a sheer cliff face was faintly visible.
“Senior brother.”
Xiao Chen, feeling guilty for taking the Kunwu Sword yesterday, stepped forward energetically to greet Liu Chengzhi.
“Mm.”
Liu Chengzhi answered without warmth.
“Brother Liu, when we enter the ancient realm, I will go with you. Perhaps I can help.”
Yuan Moli wore a dark blue fitted male outfit today.
She seemed less charming and more heroic.
She had been to this ancient realm in a previous life and remembered the scenes within somewhat.
From the conversations yesterday she was sure Xiao Chen had not been reborn.
She wanted to help Liu Chengzhi find treasures and artifacts before Xiao Chen could.
“No need.”
“Brother Liu, at least let Ah Li come with you.”
Yuan Moli reached to grab the youth’s sleeve but he avoided her without mercy.
Yuan Moli withdrew her hand awkwardly with tears pricking her eyes.
“Ah Li, do not worry. If you follow me, I will protect you well,” Xiao Chen said as he put a hand on Yuan Moli’s shoulder to comfort her.
“Mm.”
Not yet ready to face off with Xiao Chen, Yuan Moli smiled at him.
“I will protect the beauty well too.”
The wheat skinned disciple beat his chest toward Yuan Moli.
Yuan Moli turned and saw that he was the disciple who had spoken to her yesterday, named Pei Yu.
“All right. Thank you, senior brother.”
“From here you will enter the Huangquan Ancient Realm. Inside there is an irresistible barrier that isolates any external spell. Once inside, everything will depend on yourselves. On Yuling Peak I have lit a soul lamp for each of you. While the person lives the lamp burns. If the person dies the lamp goes out.”
Yun Xinyi looked at them with a seriousness unlike his usual kindness.
“The Huangquan Ancient Realm responds to strength with strength and to weakness with weakness. It is one of the ancient secret realms. While it contains countless artifacts and treasures, much depends on individual fate. Many unknown factors exist and even life may be at risk. Do you still wish to enter?”
The disciples nodded.
After all, this was a once in a thousand years opportunity.
Legend held that the founder of Yunshang Immortal sect had once been driven into the Huangquan Ancient Realm by the demon clans with no way out.
Unexpectedly he found a rare Long Spring herb that not only healed his wounds but transformed his dual water wood spirit roots into supreme full spirit roots.
His cultivation leapt several ranks.
Yun Xinyi continued, “One more important point. Everything you see in the Huangquan Ancient Realm is the past. That is to say, it has already happened. Once you enter, do not try to change the original course of events. Otherwise the ancient realm will swallow you and you will die.”
Liu Chengzhi stood among the disciples.
His originally lazy and cold expression suddenly melted when he saw a certain petite figure.
His eyes shifted and the smile deepened.
After Yun Xinyi finished the instructions, everyone entered the Huangquan Ancient Realm in turn.
“Brother, you must protect me well.”
Just inside the ancient realm, Xue Yu waved the peach blossom fan in his hand and lounged against Shi Wujian in a playful tone.
“Get lost.”
“Nooo.”
“Do you believe I will kill you.”
Shi Wujian had been annoyed by Xue Yu for days and the veins on his forehead throbbed.
“How will you kill me? Rape me? Come on. If I die beneath the peony I will still be a romantic ghost.”
“You!”
“Enough, enough. Stop quarrelling.”
A smaller girl stepped out from the crowd.
