Chapter 57: You Can’t Leave
“Mo Han.”
Mo Han looked up at her, his eyes showing a slightly warmer expression but still emitting an aura of keeping a distance from strangers.
He pursed his lips, didn’t speak, finished packing in silence, held a box, and said in a low voice, “Let’s go.”
Su Hua quietly followed behind him without speaking, but guessed that Mo Han’s change must be related to the phone call Tang Tan just made.
It wasn’t until they got into the car that Su Hua asked, “Mo Han, what happened? Did the resignation not go smoothly?”
“Don’t follow me.”
Mo Han didn’t directly answer her question: “I’m not responsible anymore.”
Su Hua frowned, stopped the car on the side of the road, and turned her head to look at him. “What happened exactly? If you don’t tell me, I’ll just stick with you.”
“According to the contract, resigning without cause requires payment of a certain compensation. I’ve been with Tang’s for three years, and as a head of department, the compensation is as high as ten million.”
Originally, Mo Han thought his resignation would go smoothly. After all, Tang Tan clearly understood the reason for his resignation. To prevent him from revealing things, they should peacefully terminate the contract.
However, he never expected that they would demand millions in compensation.
Currently, he only has a few hundred thousand in his hands. Selling the house would barely make up a couple of million, but reaching ten million was far beyond his reach.
In this situation, he no longer had the ability to take responsibility for Su Hua.
“Why didn’t you tell me earlier? You scared me.”
Su Hua breathed a sigh of relief. For her, things that could be solved with money were not a big deal.
Mo Han looked at her and said, “I have at most two million on hand, far from enough to pay the compensation. If you follow me, you’ll be burdened with eight million in debt.”
“It’s okay, as long as you don’t mind. Things that can be solved with money are not a problem for me.”
The girl’s eyes were bright, her expression cheerful, as if the eight million debt was a piece of cake for her.
An unfamiliar emotion surged in Mo Han’s heart, and his expression became even more unpredictable.
“Do you mean you want to help me repay this debt?”
The girl unfolded a smile, looking at him brightly. “Of course, you are mine now. I’ll help you; if not me, then who?”
Mo Han frowned. Did she really understand what eight million meant?
Just as Mo Han was about to say something, he saw the girl’s face magnified before his eyes.
She kissed him.
A light and brief kiss.
The girl withdrew, her eyes firm, looking at him, and said word by word, “Mo Han, there’s nothing that can separate us.”
That strange emotion surged in his heart again. Before Mo Han could react, he had tightly captured the person in front of him.
The kiss, filled with aggression like a wild beast tearing into prey, landed on Su Hua’s lips.
Su Hua was caught off guard.
The person in front of her no longer had indifference and coldness; there was only fanaticism and brutality.
Invading and dominating, as if wanting to devour all the air in Su Hua’s mouth.
After a long time, Mo Han released her as if showing mercy, whispering in her ear, “This is your choice; you can’t leave now.”
“I won’t leave.” Su Hua naturally hugged him.
Mo Han’s body stiffened for a moment, then he reacted and embraced her into his arms.
He didn’t know what had come over him. Faced with her, the calm lake in his heart that had been peaceful for twenty-five years suddenly started to ripple.
Although having physical contact with a woman should be something he detested, he proposed marriage.
Whatever, deep down, he was screaming frantically. He wanted this girl.
“Knock, knock, knock.”
Su Hua rolled down the car window. “Officer, what’s the matter?”
“Miss, parking is not allowed here. If you don’t leave, I’ll have to issue a ticket.”
“Sorry, we’ll leave right away.”
Rolling up the window again, the two looked at each other and smiled.
