Chapter 55-Part 1

“Tofu.” Tang Xin, with a bloodshot face, looked at Yan Hao and suddenly said it.

It’s better to have frozen tofu so that she can bump into it when there are leftovers.

Yan Hao was a bit surprised.

The master usually preferred meat, so why the sudden change in taste?

“And what else? How about I make some purple sweet potato cheese balls?”

Purple sweet potato cheese balls were her favorite snack…

Tang Xin gave up and closed her eyes in resignation.

Since Yan Hao was persistent, she had no choice but to compromise.

When she opened her eyes again, Tang Xin rattled off a bunch of dish names, and kicked Yan Hao with her toes to urge him, “I want to eat; go make it quickly.”

She looked just like a cruel landlord exploiting laborers.

Yan Hao’s expression slightly changed. He felt something different but couldn’t pinpoint it.

It seemed that the master had never been so affectionate towards him?

“Hurry up.” Tang, the tyrant, kicked him twice more.

“Okay.”

Yan Hao didn’t have time to ponder and ran to the kitchen.

“He really ran to cook…” Tang Xin ruffled her hair and sighed.

Her bodyguard was so foolish that he probably couldn’t learn advanced skills like betrayal. Since he was so stubborn, she reluctantly accepted him.

Tang Xin’s mouth curved into a suspicious smile.

The feeling of being pampered was too good to let go—definitely not her true intention!

“After being away for nearly two years, Yan Hao is now at level eight. It’s time to cure Yun Tian’s illness and return to the Tang family. I wonder what Tang Ning’s expression will be when he sees I have returned safely and accepted Yan Hao.” Tang Xin’s face was full of malice, smiling happily.

On Jupiter, Ma Ruiming was meticulously reporting last quarter’s work to Zhao Min.

A year and a half ago, Zhao Min had thrown him a box of ointment, and he applied it three times a day. In just half a month, he recovered his health. When he regained his strength, Ma Tao was shocked and immediately proposed to restore his status as the heir and return everything to him.

However, Ma Ruiming was already disheartened. The drastic change had matured him quickly, and he only asked the family head one question, “Can you make Ma Ruian’s life worse than death?”

Ma Tao was speechless and asked in return, “If I hand Ruian over to you, will you take back the Ma family?”

Ma Ruiming shook his head. He had once thought about taking over the Ma family, but after careful consideration, he realized he was disillusioned and only wanted to live for himself from now on. Even if Ma Ruian was handed over to him, he didn’t want to deal with the mess of the Ma family.

So, with a heavy heart, Ma Tao said, “Ruiming, family rules cannot be broken. Even as the head of the family, I must abide by them.”

When Ma Ruian harmed him, the family head didn’t remember the family rules. If he were willing to take over the Ma family, the family head would probably have said something different.

Ma Ruiming sighed lightly, took nothing with him, said nothing, and left the Ma family without hesitation, directly entering Tangmen across the street. He found Zhao Min and said, “Boss Zhao, from now on, I am your man. This life belongs to you.”

Zhao Min raised an eyebrow, surprised that Ma Ruiming was a man of his word, without any tricks.

**

Initially, Zhao Min was always on guard and only assigned Ma Ruiming some minor tasks, keeping him away from the pharmacy’s business.

Occasionally, when someone came seeking medical help and the old pharmacist was too busy, Zhao Min let Ma Ruiming lend a hand. Most of the time, Ma Ruiming was essentially a guard or enforcer for the shop.

However, Ma Ruiming didn’t mind at all. Whatever task was given to him, he did it meticulously and earnestly. After work, he didn’t return to the Ma family but stayed in Tangmen’s employee dormitory, focusing on how to make Ma Ruian suffer.

Soon, Ma Ruian found that everything wasn’t going well. He followed the family head’s instructions, but things still didn’t go right.

The Ma family required a large variety of medicinal materials daily, some produced in-house and others bought from long-time suppliers. But when he approached them, the suppliers either avoided him or claimed the materials he needed were sold out, telling him to look elsewhere.

Then, customers drawn in by the shop’s discount promotions suddenly flocked to Tangmen to buy hemostatic ointment. Those who found Tangmen’s prices high stayed reluctantly with the Ma family, buying the golden wound medicine while grumbling and complaining.

To make matters worse, the older pharmacists in the family, especially those with seniority, ignored his orders! When he gave an order, the senior members either claimed their backs or legs hurt and couldn’t handle the task or pretended to be deaf.

Ma Ruian was furious. With internal and external troubles, he was so anxious that he had mouth ulcers.

He didn’t want to go to the family head. Constantly seeking help from the head would only show his incompetence. But in reality, he couldn’t handle the situation alone. With no choice, he reluctantly sought assistance in the study.

Ma Tao frowned continuously upon hearing his plea, “I already told you what to do, and you still can’t?”

Do you have any brains? Ma Tao held back from saying this last sentence.

Ma Ruian swallowed his anger and said, “I’ve only been in this position for a short time. Maybe others want to give me a hard time.”

He secretly thought, “It’s Ma Tao who said I could ask questions if I didn’t understand, and it’s Ma Tao who now despises me for asking. If you’re so capable, why don’t you remain the family head forever! Why look for an heir!”

Ma Tao pinched his brow, telling himself to restrain. Although teaching the ten-year-old Ruiming back then was less exhausting, he had no choice but to carry on with the situation as it was.
