Chapter 62-Part 2

He demanded, “What guilty thing did you do that you felt the need to burn joss paper? Ghost stories are complete nonsense. How can you believe such things?”

Something strange happened in the garden, and he was downgraded to B-level. Most people would avoid that place, so why would he go back there? The tenth young master’s actions only make people believe that fainting was an excuse and that his gene level was always B-level. Everyone has been deceived by the father and son.

“But I suddenly dropped in level. If it’s not because the steward won’t let me go, what else could it be?” Tang Ning said, bewildered.

“Since there can be gene purification agents that enhance gene levels, there can naturally be agents that lower gene levels,” Tang Jingnan said angrily, feeling disappointed.

“Father, do you mean…” Tang Ning seemed to understand something and cautiously probed.

Tang Jingnan’s face darkened, and he demanded, “Tell me, have you offended anyone recently?”

Tang Ning thought hard and then shook his head.

“Since I’m about to leave home, I’ve been staying here and haven’t gone out. I’ve been quite well-behaved.”

“How is it such a coincidence that everything happened in these past few days?” Tang Jingnan frowned deeply, pondering hard.

“What unusual things have happened recently?”

Suddenly, he had a flash of insight and squeezed out two words through gritted teeth, “Tang Xin!”

All these strange things began happening after Tang Xin returned, and those who suffered were all people who had wronged her.

Is it all just a coincidence? Tang Jingnan didn’t believe it.

After sending Tang Ning back to his room and strictly forbidding him to go out, Tang Jingnan stormed into Tang Xin’s room with a grim face.

Tang Xin, startled by the sound of the door slamming open, looked up and saw her father and sighed with emotion, “Tang Ning must have learned the habit of barging in without knocking from you, father.”

Even if it’s his biological daughter, now that she’s an adult, it’s impolite to enter the room without knocking.

“It seems I’ve always underestimated you.” Tang Jingnan said, hands behind his back, his face stern, “Did you cause the steward and the tenth young master to faint in the garden and lose their abilities?”

Without waiting for Tang Xin to respond, he continued, “You harm loyal servants and attack your own kin. How vicious!”

Yan Hao frowned with displeasure. When the tenth young master harmed his master, he didn’t say a word. Now, the master retaliates slightly, and she’s called cruel.

Such double standards are unfair.

Tang Xin found it amusing, “Father, you accuse me without letting me say a word. Aren’t you afraid of wronging me?”

“Who else could it be but you?” Tang Jingnan said aggressively, continuing to express his heartbreak, disappointment, and dissatisfaction.

Tang Xin listened calmly, smiling all the while.

After Tang Jingnan finished, she poured a cup of hot tea and handed it to him, “Tired of speaking? Have some tea to soothe your throat.”

Could it be that it wasn’t her? Tang Jingnan hesitated slightly, as Tang Xin’s demeanor was too calm.

But the next moment, he heard Tang Xin say, “I was merely repaying them for their past treatment of me. It can hardly be called cruel.”

Tang Jingnan trembled all over.

“You…”

Tang Xin sighed, spreading her hands helplessly, “Since you wouldn’t seek justice for me, I had to seek it for myself.”

With fists clenched and power at her disposal, she showed no fear, even as she confronted Tang Jingnan.

“You evil beast!” Tang Jingnan was furious, leaping forward to subdue Tang Xin.

Yan Hao snorted coldly, stepping in front of Tang Xin and forcing Tang Jingnan back.

Standing beside his master, did the family head think he was dead?

Tang Jingnan took three steps back, feeling a tingle in the hand that had clashed with Yan Hao’s, secretly shocked but outwardly stern, “How dare you strike me!”

Calculating silently, he recalled that due to the previous dispute over the tenth young master, he had reviewed Yan Hao’s file.

Two years ago, when he left home, Yan Hao had a B-level gene, level 4 . Even with fortuitous encounters, his maximum level should be six.

Tang Jingnan had been at level six for a long time and was confident of his chances.

Tang Xin, holding a cup of tea, shook her head and sighed, “You speak as if we attacked you first, not the other way around. Compared to you, Tang Ning’s shamelessness is not even a tenth.”

Tang Jingnan, feeling suffocated, said nothing more and advanced again.

Simultaneously, Tang Xin ordered calmly, “Restrain him.”

Yan Hao faced Tang Jingnan head-on.

After a few moves, Tang Jingnan found himself in a dangerous situation, increasingly astonished. It seemed he was no match for Yan Hao!

How could this be!

Tang Jingnan was going mad. How could a young man in his twenties with a B-level gene be stronger than a level 6 warrior?

Tang Ning, being A-level, only had level 5 strength, and that was from being raised with expensive medicines.

As Tang Jingnan’s mind wavered, Yan Hao seized the opportunity to capture him.

“Capturing the head of the Tang family in the Tang family home, Tang Xin, what are you planning? To continue retaliating against the tenth young master?” Tang Jingnan, captured, blustered.

Tang Xin sneered, “You’re still worried about Tang Ning? You can’t even protect yourself; better worry about yourself. As for him, if he stops provoking me, I won’t act against him anymore. But you…”

She smiled brightly, “Something interesting is bound to happen.”

Tang Jingnan felt a chill throughout his body, and an ominous premonition surged in his heart.
