Her soft hand held his tightly, her eyes filled with unmistakable concern.

Yu Jingchen stared at her for a moment, then smiled shyly and said softly, “Alright then.”

Director Wang had already noticed that something was off with him this morning.

Most of the afternoon scenes featured Zhang Hao and Wu Xueqing, and since Yu Jingchen had always performed well, the director immediately agreed to let him rest and even expressed his concern.

After returning to the hotel, Shen Mubai realized that the new assistant who usually followed Yu Jingchen around, hadn’t been around for the past couple of days.

She asked, “Where’s your assistant?”

Yu Jingchen’s face, now without makeup, looked even paler, and his usually rosy lips had lost some color.

He smiled and said, “Xiao Wang had something urgent come up, so I gave him two days off.”

Shen Mubai told him to rest while she called Xiaoguai to go buy some medicine.

Not long after, Xiaoguai arrived with the medicine.

Only after Yu Jingchen took the medicine did Shen Mubai finally breathe a sigh of relief.

She reached out to touch his forehead.

“You seem a bit better. Get some rest, and I’ll come check on you tonight.”

That evening, Shen Mubai brought dinner to Yu Jingchen.

She touched his forehead again and smiled happily.

Shen Mubai replied, “You can ask me anything.”

Yu Jingchen looked up, biting his lower lip nervously, and hesitated.

“Are you this nice to everyone?”

Realizing his question might seem abrupt, he quickly added, “Sister Xiaoxing, I didn’t mean it like that… I just…”

Shen Mubai hurried to clarify, “I know what you mean. Are you asking if I seem too easygoing, and that’s why you got the wrong impression?”

Yu Jingchen blushed lightly and nodded, embarrassed.

Shen Mubai said, “Of course not. I’m not some ‘ air conditioner ! Look at Zhang Hao and Wu Xueqing—I just greet them politely. I’m nice to you because we have a special connection, you know?”

Yu Jingchen’s eyes lit up, and the brightness made his already beautiful face even more striking.

He responded obediently, “I understand,Sister  Xiaoxing.”

The next day, Yu Jingchen had fully recovered, and Shen Mubai could finally relax.

For the next few days, they continued filming.

During that time, Director Wang lost his temper over a mistake made by a crew member, which almost caused a major loss.

Director Wang, who couldn’t tolerate mistakes, especially serious ones, immediately fired the person from the crew.

Shen Mubai only caught bits of the story.

She was snacking on pistachios when her agent, Li Hong, called.

Li Hong heard the crunching sound over the phone and couldn’t help but say, “You’re really living it up on set, huh, Tang Xiaoxing?”
