Frightened, she quickly changed into a new outfit to cover them all up and, still uneasy, wrapped a silk scarf around her neck.

Only then did she walk over and open the door for Xiaoguai.

Xiaoguai’s face lit up with joy, and she was just about to give Shen Mubai a hug when Shen Mubai immediately stopped her.

“Wait.”

“Sister Xiaoxing, where did you go all night? Do you know how worried we all were? Sister Hong was so anxious she nearly fell sick, and she couldn’t reach Brother Yu either.”

Shen Mubai said guiltily, “I got drunk last night, so… I just randomly found a place to sleep it off.”

Xiaoguai asked suspiciously, “But why couldn’t we reach your phone?”

Shen Mubai’s phone had been left in the private room.

Shen Mubai hurried into the bathroom and took a long shower.

When she came out, her legs still felt weak.

Seeing the caller ID, Shen Mubai hesitated but eventually picked up.

“…Hello.”

The gentle voice on the other end carried a hint of concern.

“Sister Xiaoxing, how are you feeling now?”

Shen Mubai’s face flushed again, and she couldn’t help but reply in a low voice, “Is something wrong?”

Yu Jingchen was silent for a moment before speaking.

“Your things are still here with me. Can I bring them over later?”

Though she acted like she didn’t care, Shen Mubai couldn’t interact with Yu Jingchen as naturally as before.

Her heart was filled with awkwardness and unease.

The next morning, she sent Xiaoguai away and had Yu Jingchen send her belongings up without letting him come inside.

Then, using an excuse, she hurriedly sent him away.
