Chapter 98: The cunning fox Yin.

Jade Bed, Temple of God

Jiang Niannian was bound hand and foot by chains formed from condensed spiritual energy.

Yin Buqi held her tightly from behind, his teeth clenched, his eyes brimming with violent, red threads of fury, like a frenzied beast cornered and enraged.

In this state, Yin Buqi seemed to have lost control of his spiritual energy and was on the verge of losing his mind.

Jiang Niannian’s heart constricted tightly, pounding so fiercely it seemed as though it would burst through her eardrums.

She instinctively struggled.
“Yin Buqi! What are you doing? Let me go!”

Realizing her resistance, Yin Buqi held her even tighter, his arms wrapping around her body with such force that she could hardly breathe.

With his level of cultivation, restraining her was as effortless as a flick of the wrist.

She was firmly locked in his embrace, unable to move.

“Niannian doesn’t want me anymore…”

His body trembled violently, hot tears spilling from his reddened eyes, dampening the long, dark lashes framing them.

Jiang Niannian laughed bitterly out of sheer frustration.
“Yin Buqi, you were the one who abandoned me first! What now? You regret it because I left? Do you even know what you’re doing right now?”

“I know.”

Yin Buqi’s fingertips brushed against the nape of her pale neck, caressing gently before pressing a light kiss there.

He was intense, his every breath scalding, as if intent on melting her, consuming her whole.

His voice was a low murmur:
“Niannian, you’re mine. You can’t leave. I won’t let you leave…”

Jiang Niannian’s bones began to ache from his crushing grip.

The grievances and anger she’d been holding in surged forth with the pain, and she burst into tears, elbowing his chest repeatedly.
“Let go! Let go of me!!”

Yin Buqi hung his head, his face ashen, his chin buried deep in the curve of her neck.

Her words echoed in his mind with a sharp snap.

He let out a gut-wrenching cry, “I won’t let go!!!”

“Don’t leave me, Niannian. Don’t leave me again. I regret it, Niannian. Please don’t leave me!”

Just moments ago, seeing that dark flood dragon nearly swallow her whole had almost stopped his heart.

He suddenly realized there was no place in the world that felt safe enough.

What if she encountered danger without him by her side?

What if he couldn’t arrive in time to save her again?

The tears falling onto Jiang Niannian’s neck grew hotter, causing her to shiver.

She smiled bitterly through her tears.

“Why are you doing this to yourself?”

“Niannian, Niannian.”

His warm breath brushed against her ear as he panted hoarsely.

Jiang Niannian turned her head slightly, her gaze landing on his side profile.

Shadows flickered across his face, revealing a deep, unsettling darkness beneath.

Yin Buqi’s kisses trailed from her earlobe to her neck, his teeth grazing her skin.

As his lips closed around her neck, Jiang Niannian froze, too terrified to move.

She felt like a fish out of water, exhausted and lifeless, her moist almond-shaped eyes devoid of their usual sparkle.

His black fox tail wrapped around her gently, its fur tickling her and making her shudder.

Jiang Niannian instinctively hunched her shoulders.

The bloodstained garment slipped from her body under his touch, revealing the smooth, jade-like skin of her nape.

Yin Buqi stared at her elegant neck for a long time before lowering his head to gently suck on it.

His sharp teeth pierced the skin, leaving a small wound.

Jiang Niannian didn’t feel pain, just a tingling, electric current spreading through her body.

He pressed closer, licking the blood that began to seep out, his soft lips brushing against her skin.

His tongue probed at the wound as if enchanted.

Yin Buqi seemed completely bewitched.

Her delicate, flawless skin tempted him to leave his mark.

Though he despised the taste of blood, Jiang Niannian’s carried the scent of fresh herbs, soothing him and lulling him into indulgence.

The restless turmoil in his heart began to settle, leaving behind a hint of satisfaction.

Jiang Niannian said coldly, “Have you calmed down now?”

“Mm…”

“Still planning to drive me away?”

“No, I won’t. Not anymore. Niannian, I was wrong. Please forgive me…” Yin Buqi hugged her tightly.

“I didn’t do anything with that woman…

“I’m a cursed soul Of Nether Evil Resentment Seed. I feared I’d bring misfortune upon you, so I pushed you away. But I regret it now…”

“Niannian, I regret it so much…”

“Did you ever consider asking my opinion before pushing me away?! Do you have any idea how miserable I’ve been this past month? Let me tell you, Yin Buqi—I’m not that afraid of dying!”

Jiang Niannian’s eyes turned red as she bit her lip to hold back her pain, letting out a mocking laugh.

“Besides, what does my life or death have to do with you? Haven’t you had enough fun yet?”

Yin Buqi whimpered pitifully.
“Niannian, I said those things on purpose. I’m a terrible person. It’s all my fault. Please forgive me. I promise I’ll never do it again…”

When she didn’t respond, Yin Buqi loosened his grip slightly.

His fox tail unwound from her, and the chains of spiritual energy dissipated.

He asked nervously, “Did I hurt you?”

Jiang Niannian still didn’t say a word.

“Niannian…”

Her reddened eyes filled with a fleeting daze before she finally spoke.
“Why should I forgive you just because you asked me to?”

Yin Buqi turned her to face him, his tone earnest.
“Then what will it take for you to forgive me, Niannian?”

Jiang Niannian blinked, her voice choked with emotion.
“Beg me.”

“I’m begging you, Niannian,” Yin Buqi pleaded without hesitation, his tone panicked and frightened like a child.

He didn’t care about his dignity.

All he wanted was her, even if it meant placing himself in the humblest position.

Jiang Niannian took a deep breath.
“Yin Buqi, I’ve told you before—there’s only one Jiang Niannian in this world. Miss her, and she’s gone forever.”

Yin Buqi’s bloodshot eyes were filled with madness and anguish, his heart feeling as though it had been torn apart.

He trembled as he asked,
“So… you don’t want me anymore, is that it?”

Jiang Niannian simply looked at him, saying nothing.

Yin Buqi closed his eyes in despair, a rare moment of vulnerability crossing his face.

Jiang Niannian’s lips curled into a faint smile.

She couldn’t hold it in any longer.

She’d never been able to.

She leaned toward him, pressing a gentle, tender kiss to his lips.

A kiss filled with softness and emotion.

Yin Buqi opened his eyes in disbelief.
“Niannian… why?”

His long lashes quivered, the red in his eyes reigniting into sparks of joy and astonishment.

Jiang Niannian cradled his face in her hands, her lips brushing his brow as she whispered gently:
“Because there’s only one Yin Buqi in this world.”

Miss him, and he’s gone forever.

“You were never my calamity. Meeting you was the greatest blessing of my life.”

“Niannian!”

Yin Buqi’s eyes gleamed as he pressed her onto the bed, kissing her deeply and passionately.

Their lips met, transforming from tentative touches to heated caresses, his breath overwhelming her.

The fluffy fox tail wound tightly around her waist, its fervor mirroring his.

Jiang Niannian’s voice trembled.

“Buqi, control your tail…”

Yin Buqi paused, his expression dazed, before he finally understood.
“Sorry… I couldn’t help it… It has a mind of its own… It’s your fault for being so enticing…”

His warm breath tickled her ear, making her shiver.

Jiang Niannian clenched her fists, feeling a strange warmth spread from the bite mark on her neck, setting her entire body ablaze.

She touched the mark, saying,
“Yin Buqi, you need to stop biting people.”

“That wasn’t biting…”

Yin Buqi’s long lashes fluttered, his gaze evasive and guilty.

“Hmm?”

His lips brushed against her neck as his voice dropped to a seductive murmur:
“The Nine-Tailed Clan seals their bond with a mark.”

Jiang Niannian froze, realizing she’d been tricked.

Once marked, no matter her earlier response, they were bound together.

She glared at him, her embarrassment turning into anger.
“Yin Buqi!”

“I’m here, Niannian. Always.”

Yin Buqi caught her slender waist, pulling her tightly against him.

“Niannian, will you be mine?”

His voice was hoarse, laden with desire.
