Chapter 22: Holding Hands

After finishing their meal, Su Hua had no mood to watch the awkward interaction between the male and female leads. She took the initiative to leave with Feng Xiao.

“Qin Hua, what’s wrong with you?”

Su Hua turned to look at him, finding him still wearing an innocent and confused expression. Su Hua felt the urge to grit her teeth.

“Hold hands,” Su Hua said, extending her hand.

Feng Xiao stared at the delicate and fair hand in front of him, hesitated for a moment, and finally held it. The touch was slightly cool and soft, quite comfortable in the hot summer.

Feng Xiao’s heart was pounding, but he straightened his back, looked straight ahead, and pursed his lips, almost standing in military posture, not daring to glance at Su Hua beside him.

Su Hua was pleased with his expression, and the previous frustration disappeared. She swung their joined hands and happily said, “Feng Xiao, I feel so happy.”

“Yeah,” he agreed.

“Tomorrow morning, let’s have breakfast together, then go shopping. I want to dress you up nicely. After that, we’ll have lunch and watch a movie. After the movie, we can go to the snack street and then visit the zoo.”

Su Hua suddenly stopped, turned her head to look at him, and asked, “How does that sound?”

Sunlight filtered through the leaves, casting dappled patterns on her long hair. Her eyes sparkled as she looked at him, with a smile in the corners of her eyes and lips, her gaze meeting his, shining brightly.

“Sounds good,” Feng Xiao smiled.

Su Hua was a bit stunned. Feng Xiao rarely smiled, and when he did, it was usually cold and distant. Today’s genuine smile was the first time, and the breeze gently brushed through his disheveled hair as he earnestly looked at her, as if she were his entire world.

From a distance, a girl and a boy held hands, facing each other. The girl looked a bit dazed, but happiness was evident in the corners of her eyes and lips. The boy’s mouth carried a smile, and his eyes were serious and focused. The two seemed like a perfectly matched couple, destined by heaven.

“Host, Feng Xiao’s blackening value has dropped to 20. Excellent,” De’er interrupted the romantic atmosphere.

Su Hua snapped out of her trance, took a step forward, and hugged Feng Xiao’s slender waist. Feeling his momentary stiffness and subsequent reciprocation, Su Hua revealed a big smile.

“Feng Xiao, will you stay with me like this in the future, okay?”

“Yeah.”

Perhaps from the day she entered his livestream room and inexplicably sent him gifts, their fate was destined.

After Su Hua and Feng Xiao left Fatty Zhang’s shop, Lu Lewei followed suit with Gan Zeyu.

“Lewei, are you okay?”

“Teacher, I’m fine.” Lu Lewei shook her head.

Gan Zeyu looked at her and said, “If there’s anything, tell the teacher. Also, the investigation into that corruption case you mentioned is making some progress.”

Talking about serious matters, Lu Lewei’s mood improved, and she eagerly asked, “Have you found out who it is?”

“There’s Professor Wu from the Computer Science Department, and also our department’s Professor Li. They are both closely involved with the department head.”

Lu Lewei frowned. “It’s surprising that so many people are implicated. How’s the evidence?”

“None.” Gan Zeyu shook his head and sighed. “They are careful in their actions. The money from the parents is all handed over during meals, discreetly placed inside gift boxes. It’s all in cash, not through bank transfers. It’s difficult to find evidence.”

“I believe the heavens are just, and nothing escapes their scrutiny.” Lu Lewei’s gaze was determined.

Gan Zeyu looked at her, feeling his heart beating fast. “Lewei, you are truly kind.”

Meanwhile, Ling Yan, hiding in the shadows, witnessed this scene, growing more and more infuriated.

On campus, the gossip about Su Hua’s extravagance once again surged, with someone even creating a dedicated post on the campus forum.
