Chapter 228: The Male Lead Raises a Cat (45)
The big brother bragged, “Back then, even though the girlfriend I was dating didn’t have a particularly fierce owner, I still persevered and eventually won her over.”
The tomcat thought to itself, “It’s easy to say when you’re not in the situation. If you were, you probably wouldn’t last half a minute.”
Just the thought of the other party’s gaze made its body involuntarily tremble.
Since that tomcat disappeared, Shen Mubai could finally lie on the tatami mat peacefully and lazily.
Although the afternoon sun was intense, the living room’s air conditioning provided a cool breeze, making the fur feel comfortable. Shen Mubai squinted her eyes happily, thinking how nice it would be to have some ice-cold watermelon at that moment.
But it was just wishful thinking. Since being caught by the cat litter officer sneaking food from the refrigerator, apart from ingredients, there were fewer snacks than before. She could only wait patiently for the cat litter officer to come back from school and feed her some dried fish.
Shen Mubai dreamed. In her dream, she was still a little kitten, surrounded by heaps of crayfish and dried fish, the aroma making her mouth water.
As she was enjoying herself, she felt her breathing becoming difficult, and then she woke up.
What she saw was a slender hand with fair skin akin to exquisite jade, pinching her little nose with just the right pressure.
Shen Mubai let out a meow, lifting her furry head, and, unsurprisingly, she saw a familiar, cold, and handsome face.
Seeing her wake up, the other acted as if nothing had happened, releasing her nose and tousling her fur. “What were you dreaming about? You were drooling.”
Shen Mubai felt embarrassed, quickly lowering her head and even using her paw to wipe her mouth a couple of times.
A barely perceptible chuckle came from above: “Just kidding.”
Shen Mubai was furious, glaring at the cat litter officer who joked around with a poker face, feeling like he was a black-hearted villain disguised as a good person.
“Meow!” She suddenly pounced but was effortlessly embraced by the other, who then easily stopped her movements, giving her a thorough petting.
Shen Mubai was very angry; she lifted her head and glared fiercely with her emerald green eyes.
Jiang Yiran’s deep eyes flashed a hint of a faint smile, but his face maintained a cold and indifferent expression. “Are you hungry? I’ll get you some dried fish.”
At the moment he uttered those words with his chilly voice, all the embarrassment and anger dissipated.
Shen Mubai’s eyes sparkled, and her tail couldn’t help but wag as she emitted a soft meow towards the cat litter officer.
Jiang Yiran lowered his eyelids slightly as he fed his stupid cat dried fish as part of his daily routine. When he saw the happy look on her face, his eyes softened.
After finishing the dried fish, his fingers were licked delicately, and the cat under his hand put her heart and soul into it, not missing any flavor.
Jiang Yiran showed a hint of helplessness on his face but still allowed her actions. Finally, he couldn’t help but rub her furry head and muttered, “You really have no sense of awareness…”
Shen Mubai innocently raised her head and asked, “Meow, meow, meow?” Cat litter officer, what are you talking about?
Jiang Yiran flicked her forehead with his finger, not saying a word.
Shen Mubai covered her forehead in grievance, thinking, “What did I do wrong again?”
