Shen Mubai was dumbfounded.

Jiang Yiran raised his head, chewed and swallowed the shrimp in his mouth, then spoke, “Hmm, delicious.”

His deep eyes stared at her without blinking, his expression calm.

Shen Mubai’s face was inexplicably flushed. She thought, “The cat litter officer is actually quite good at teasing people…”

When the crayfish were almost eaten, Shen Mubai began to feel full. She accidentally burped and then felt a slight warmth on her head.

Her eyes widened in surprise, then she covered the suddenly protruding ears with both hands and returned to her seat under the curious gaze of others.

After Jiang Yiran came out, she looked at him with anticipation and nervousness.

Jiang Yiran clearly sensed that something was wrong. He walked over to the girl and asked softly, “What’s wrong?”

Blocking some of the curious gazes, Shen Mubai breathed a sigh of relief and whispered, “Cat ears… are showing.”

Jiang Yiran was briefly stunned but quickly regained his calm demeanor. He looked at the nervous girl with baby-like cheeks and reached out to touch her hair. With a cool tone, he said, “Don’t worry, I’m here.”

His voice seemed to have a comforting power, and Shen Mubai’s tense body relaxed.

Seeing her body loosen up, Jiang Yiran turned around, leaned down, and said, “Get on.”

Shen Mubai, seeing more people’s eyes on them, instantly dispelled her hesitation and hurriedly climbed onto his back.

Jiang Yiran steadied her body and, under the curious and bewildered gaze of the crowd, walked out.

It wasn’t until they were a distance away that Jiang Yiran turned his face and said in a soothing tone, “You can let go of your hand. They won’t suspect anything.”

Shen Mubai looked hesitant, but she slowly let go of her hand.

Jiang Yiran continued, “Hold onto my neck tightly.”

Shen Mubai obediently did so, embracing her cat owner’s neck. Because of this movement, their faces were very close, appearing intimate.

Some passersby looked at them with curiosity. When they saw the cat ears on Shen Mubai’s head, they joked with their companions, “Such a sweet couple. The girlfriend’s cat ears look so cute and lifelike.”

“Yeah, I wonder where they bought them. I should go look for one for cosplay sometime.”

Shen Mubai listened to their words, all teasing and joking, and gradually relaxed.

“System, explain this.”

The system replied, “Explain what?”

Shen Mubai gritted her teeth. “Why did I suddenly sprout a pair of cat ears?”
