Chapter 56-Part 2

Tang Jingnan was feeling very frustrated lately.

Normally, having someone want to do business with him would be a cause for celebration. But it was very troubling when he had no idea what they were talking about.

What made it worse was that people kept coming to ask him about it.

Every time he said he didn’t know, they would be surprised and ask, “Isn’t the Star Network shop called Tangmen? Isn’t it a branch of your Tang family?”

One after another, people came in excitedly and left disappointed. Watching these potential orders slip away, Tang Jingnan couldn’t help but become agitated.

“There are so many people named Tang in the interstellar space. Why does it have to be our family’s shop? And even if someone doesn’t have the surname Tang but wants to name their shop Tangmen, what’s wrong with that? Is it against the law?”

The visitor was stunned and stammered, “I was just asking on the off chance.”

Realizing his outburst, Tang Jingnan softened his tone, “I’ve had so many people come asking about this lately. I got annoyed. Don’t take it to heart.”

“With our decades-old friendship, who cares about that?” The visitor said nonchalantly, then continued, “Don’t blame me for speaking out of turn, but there are few people with the ability to make high-quality medicine. Moreover, Tangmen sells gene purifier agents! How could an ordinary family have such things? Across the interstellar space, your family is the only one named Tang with some expertise in medicine. How can people not come to you?”

“At first, I thought it was just a gimmick to deceive people. But my relative spent a lot of money to win a bottle of Tangmen’s gene purifier agent at an online auction, and within a few days of drinking it, he leveled up,” the visitor sighed.

“Initially, I laughed at him for being naive and wasting his money on these things. After waiting for almost half a month, the stuff finally arrived from another planet. But after he drank the purifier and leveled up, I regretted not competing with him for it.”

Any larger family would have shops spread across various planets. So, seeing something shipped from Jupiter didn’t bother him; he thought it was a branch run by his old friend. He hoped to use his connections to get a vial of the medicine.

Tang Jingnan gave a bitter smile, “I understand. I wish it were ours too. What a great opportunity to make a name for ourselves! But there’s nothing we can sell.”

He sighed, “You don’t know how many people have come to my house hoping to get lucky. If we had the formula for the medicine and sold it to them, the Tang family would make a fortune!”

The visitor sighed deeply. From the sales on Star Network, he could imagine the scene of its popularity. After chatting briefly, he hurriedly left.

Since it wasn’t Tang Jingnan’s medicine, he could only wait on Star Network for Tangmen’s next gene purifier agent auction.

Tang Jingnan sat in his study, lost in thought. Opportunities lay before him, yet he could only watch them slip away, feeling very uneasy.

The steward entered, respectfully reporting, “Master, tomorrow is the Tenth Young Master’s birthday.”

Finally hearing some good news, Tang Jingnan’s expression lightened a bit, showing a slight smile, “Prepare everything for him. Bring him to me first thing in the morning.”

The steward respectfully acknowledged and left.

Tang Jingnan pondered. He had been tricked by the Eighth Young Miss into losing a spatial ring before, and after much effort, he found a spatial bracelet.

Though it was a bit feminine, it was better than nothing.

As for the long sword, he had sent gifts to a master craftsman and, after much expense, finally convinced the master to remake one.

Thinking of this, Tang Jingnan couldn’t help but think of someone who always gave him headaches.

If not for the Tenth Young Master’s diligence and hard work over the past two years, which had pleased him greatly and made the expense worthwhile, he wouldn’t have been able to sleep from the heartache.

Tang Jingnan’s mind was full of thoughts when he suddenly noticed two people entering the study without prior notice. The leader was the very person he had been thinking about.

Tang Jingnan’s eyelid twitched. He had specially arranged for someone to investigate, and wasn’t the person supposed to be stuck on Huangsha Star, unable to return for a while? How did she come back?

“I’m back,” Tang Xin said with a smile.

Her white teeth reflecting the sunlight made her smile look sinister.

Her first act upon returning home was to smile and accuse Tang Ning, “Tang Ning colluded with the spaceship pilot to abandon me on an unfamiliar planet, one where the Tang family has no influence. He clearly intended to harm me. I urge the family head to strip Tang Ning of his qualification to compete for the family head position.”

Tang Jingnan pondered for a moment, “Which pilot?”

Tang Xin described the pilot’s appearance from memory.

“You wouldn’t know this since you just got back,” Tang Jingnan said earnestly.

“That person had poor character and was expelled from the Tang family long ago for stealing from us. He must have been up to no good, trying to sow discord between you and the Tenth Young Master. Don’t fall for it.”

“Oh—” Tang Xin looked at the family head with a half-smile. “So, what does the family head plan to do about this?”

Tang Jingnan frowned slightly, “Anyone daring to harm our Tang family members must not be let off! Steward, send someone to find the pilot and bring him back for a proper punishment.”

The steward understood and left to carry out the order.

After putting on a show of impartiality, Tang Jingnan turned and assumed a commanding posture, “However, Eighth Young Miss, you are also at fault here. You were too careless and fell for his trick.”

One can’t guard against a thief forever. Who knew what tricks Tang Ning would pull next?

Tang Xin pouted, ignoring Tang Jingnan’s lecture, and directly asked, “Does the family head not intend to punish Tang Ning?”

Tang Jingnan, feeling pained, replied, “If I punish the Tenth Young Master, it would mean falling into their scheme to drive a wedge between us.”

“I understand.”

Tang Xin gave the man in front of her a deep look and then left with Yan Hao to her room.

She had given him the last chance. Since the family head didn’t cherish it, he couldn’t blame her for whatever happened next.

Tang Jingnan felt a chill from the look the Eighth Young Miss gave him. When he came to his senses, she had already left, making him laugh in frustration.

“Coming and going as you please, what do you take the family head’s study for?”
