Someone couldn’t help but quietly gripe, “She really thinks she’s on vacation. Having connections sure is something.”

Another person chimed in, “Exactly. All she has to do is whisper a word to her sugar daddy, and she can get whatever role she wants.”

“Please, look at her. The only thing she has going for her is her looks. No acting skills at all, and she has more haters than fans. And her fans? They’re all brainless, claiming that as long as she’s pretty, nothing else matters.”

As their conversation heated up, a gentle voice interrupted, “Excuse me, seniors.”

The two looked up to find Yu Jingchen, the actor playing the second male lead, standing there.

They immediately fell silent.

Yu Jingchen gave a shy smile, “Seniors, Director Wang is asking for you.”

They glanced over to see Director Wang glaring at them from across the set as if he were about to explode.

Confused and a bit panicked, they quickly walked over.

The morning’s filming was intense, leaving Shen Mubai with almost no chance to talk to the male lead.

She ended up dozing off here and there.

Around noon, it was time for box lunch.

Xiaoguai, her assistant, asked, “Sister Xiaoxing, what would you like to eat? I can go buy something for you.”

Shen Mubai was about to answer when a thought crossed her mind.

She quickly replied, “No need. I’ll just eat the box lunch with everyone else.”

Xiaoguai looked surprised.

Remembering her character’s limitations, Shen Mubai put on a troubled expression and sighed, “I’ve been watching for two days now, and I can’t seem to figure things out. Maybe I’m just not cut out for acting. I want to get more involved, so today I’ll eat with them and maybe ask for some acting tips.”

The old Tang Xiaoxing was obsessed with her acting, but unfortunately, she had no talent.

No matter how hard she tried, her performances were always awkward.

Xiaoguai suddenly understood and couldn’t help but feel a bit of sympathy.

“Well, Sister Xiaoxing, if you want something else, just let me know, and I’ll get it for you.”

Shen Mubai smiled politely, “Director Wang, I usually don’t eat on set, but after watching you all work for the past two days, I wanted to experience the taste of a box lunch.”

With a hint of anticipation, she added, “And I also want to ask the other actors for some tips on improving my acting.”

Director Wang wanted to give her a dose of reality, but considering her strong backing, he just smiled and said, “Well, if that’s the case, I won’t stop you.”

So Shen Mubai grabbed a box lunch and went to sit next to the male lead.

Yu Jingchen seemed very nervous, his eyelashes trembling anxiously, his thin lips pressed into a straight line, and the chopsticks in his hand unconsciously stirred the food.
